CHANGES IN NO FAULT RELATED SERVICES FOR BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS TAKE EFFECT

As of July 1, 2021, brain injury service providers are facing an unprecedented reduction in rates, and services to the no fault community of brain injury survivors and their families are being disrupted as a result.

BIAMI is and will continue to be a vital resource to advocate and provide support for all persons living with a brain injury in the state, as we have done for the past 40 years. While no one has all the answers to this current crisis, we will provide assistance in helping find the answers you’re seeking.

News is developing quickly, and we will continue to update our website and Facebook as more information is available. For questions, please give us a call or visit the following:

Important Survey on the Effects of New ANF Law

Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI), on behalf of Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI) is conducting a survey to understand how the new auto insurance law is impacting crash survivors and their families, as well as service providers. The aggregate information will be shared with lawmakers and other stakeholders to better understand the effects of the 2019 changes to Michigan Auto Insurance Law including those that took effect July 1, 2021 on the healthcare systems and patients in our state. We are encouraging you to participate in this very important survey. To track the changes over time, a series of three online surveys will be conducted September 2021 to April 2022. We invite you to participate today in the first survey in the series.

For survivors and/or family members, the survey will ask questions about services you or a family member received before and after July 1, 2021. Additionally, the survey will invite you to provide some demographic information, including personally identifiable information and some health information. Completing the survey on average should take approximately 30 minutes. For service providers, the survey will ask questions about the services your organization provides and how the changes have impacted your operations. Completing the survey on average should take approximately 15 minutes.

Please submit your completed survey no later than Wednesday, October 13, however, it would be greatly appreciated if you complete as soon as possible.
