Brighton, Mich, January 10, 2017 - The Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAM) has announced the hiring of Gerald Schorin as Director of Development and Marketing. Schorin will be primarily responsible for diversifying and developing fundraising opportunities maintaining and growing their donor base, and will help advance the BIAMI’s marketing efforts. The announcement was made today by BIAMI President Tom Constand.

"We're thrilled and extremely fortunate to have Gerry join us," said Constand. "The expertise in marketing and communications he brings to our association will certainly prove to be a central strength as we continue to grow."

Prior to joining the BIAMI, Schorin served as the Vice President for Communications and Marketing at Sarah Lawrence College. Prior to his work in higher education, Schorin served as Senior Consultant at Sandy Corporation in Troy and Vice President, Marketing Communications of Fireman's Fund Mortgage Corporation in Farmington Hills. He has also held the positions of Assistant and Associate Professor of Advertising at Michigan State University. His experience also includes the Director of Communications Michigan Law School Director of Strategic Communications at Skidmore College, as well as extensive consulting work in program development, branding, marketing and communications.

Schorin holds undergraduate and master's degrees in English from the University of Pittsburgh, a Diploma in Anglo-Irish literature from Trinity College in Dublin, as well as a Ph. D in English and Communication-Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
