Your presence is requested at the 10th Annual Brain Injury Association of Michigan’s Legacy Society Tribute Dinner.  This formal event will be an evening filled with superb cuisine, entertainment, a silent auction and recognition of the honorary 2008 Legacy Society members. It is with the greatest of pleasure that the Legacy Society will mark the Association’s 27th year of service to Michigan by recognizing these two individuals whose commitment and leadership have served as the cornerstone for the recent growth and development of the Association; and the companies that they manage, which have significantly improved the lives of their clients who have sustained a brain injury.

The Legacy Society will recognize Heidi Reyst, PhD & Tom Constand

2008 Annual Award Nominations

Congratulations to the following 2008 Award Recipients

The Chairperson's Award

Michigan Brain Injury Providers Council

Congratulations to the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council (MBIPC) for its dedication and commitment to raising the quality of brain injury rehabilitation services through cutting-edge educational programs for its members and ensuring that those services are rendered in an ethical manner. In addition, the members of MBIPC are recognized for their vigilance and tireless efforts to protect the Michigan Automobile No-Fault Insurance system from efforts that would erode the rights and care received by all Michigan drivers.

This award is given annually to an organization or individual who has demonstrated significant efforts in assisting the Brain Injury Association of Michigan in accomplishing its mission during the year.

Education/Public Awareness Award

Kelley Syverson & Joann Pace

Congratulations to Kelley Syverson and her mother, Joann Pace, for their intense commitment and efforts to convince the National Road Safety Foundation to create a film designed to educate drivers, particularly young drivers and the general public about the affects of a brain injury on the individual, and their family. Kelley and the members of “The Other Breakfast Club” present a compelling account of the unimaginable efforts required in the brain injury rehabilitation process. The stories told in this film truly exemplify the meaning of “Creating a Better Future.”

This award is given annually to recognize an individual or organization that made the greatest single impact on enhancing the general public’s knowledge or awareness about brain injury during the year.
