Support Services

Our Support Services help provide informational assistance to individuals with brain injury, as well as their families and caregivers.

Family Helpline...Call our Family Helpline (800-444-6443) if you have questions about information and resources available to individuals with brain injury and their families.

eLibrary and Library...If you'd like to read more about various characteristics of brain injury in our variety of ePublications. You may even check out books and/or videos in the Library in our Brighton Office.

Support Groups...Support groups are an excellent way to connect with other individuals with brain injuries and their families.  These groups provide opportunities learn from others who have gone through similar situations, share personal experiences, and make new friends.

Family Support....Our Information & Referral Specialists are available to help guide you through situations that may happen when living with brain injury. Based on your individual needs, our specialists provide valuable information, advocacy, and other resources that you may require.


Sessions and Events

Spring Fling

The Spring Fling provides people with brain injuries and their family an opportunity to gather and socialize with other members from around the state. The day and evening are loosely structured in order to accommodate everyone. Hotel accommodations are at the Best Western in Birch Run, just off I-75. Shopping takes place at the Prime Outlet Mall in Birch Run and in the quaint German community of Frankenmuth.

NEW FOR 2010 - Brain Injury Basics for Families

Frequently families move on from hospital and rehabilitation settings with many unanswered questions about brain injury. This program, designed for family members of people who have sustained brain injuries offers a presentation and forum for questions. The presentation provides an overview of brain injury including the common effects of brain injury, strategies and tips for caregivers, stages of grief and what resources are available to help them in Michigan.

Annual Conference

The largest educational brain injury conference each year is in Michigan! The BIAMI Annual Conference offers leading experts from around the globe, offering state-of-the-art information about brain injury treatment, therapies, latest research findings and best-practice techniques. Additionally for professionals, the Annual Conference is the place to meet and network with professionals working in all disciplines related to brain injury. Moreover, for families and people with brain injuries, the Annual Conference is an opportunity to meet with others facing similar issues and to meet potential service providers.

Sexuality Conference

The Association is proud to offer a one-day conference is to bring together, professionals, brain injury survivors and their families to openly discuss sexuality & relationships after brain injury. It is designed to benefit people engaged in therapies with people recovering from brain injury as well as caregivers and persons with brain injury.
